Looks like someone is working really hard to re-establish his wing-nut credibility. There will be no compromise from Marco Rubio, no way. A day after the Senate reached agreement to defuse the nuclear option threat on nominations, Rubio is trying to reignite it over President Obama's pick for the Department of Labor, Thomas Perez.

He slammed his lily-livered senior colleagues on the floor for “dereliction of duty" in agreeing to allow a vote on Perez. Why is Rubio so wound up? Because Perez has blown off Rubio's best teabagger buddies in the House, who have made him the target of one of their gazillion "investigations." So Rubio is doing his best to compete with Sens. Ted Cruz and Rand Paul for the most tea-baggy of all the Senate.
The Perez cloture vote will happen either Wednesday evening or Thursday morning, after the Hochberg nomination to the Export-Import Bank is finished. So far, Republicans are not yielding back any of their time to make this voting go faster. That gives Rubio more time to convince his colleagues to blow up the Senate so they can be more like the House. That'll go over well with his caucus.
1:46 PM PT (Jed Lewison): Sorry Marco—the nomination just cleared cloture on a 60-40 vote. You lose!
